Simple Creamy Hummus
This is the snack that actually holds you over. Creamy, lemony, and perfectly balanced, this homemade hummus comes together in minutes and tastes better than anything store-bought. With protein from chickpeas and healthy fats from tahini and olive oil, it helps keep energy steady and curbs that “hungry again in 20 minutes” feeling. It’s one of those recipes that works for quick snacks, lunches, or simple meals. Makes a hearty batch (about 2½ cups).
Ingredients:
1½ cups chickpeas (1 can, drained and rinsed)
⅓ cup tahini
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
1 garlic clove
½ tsp cumin
¾ tsp sea salt
½ cup cold water
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy (scrape down sides as needed).
Taste and adjust salt, lemon, or garlic to preference.
Finish with a dash of paprika, if desired, for color and flavor.
Serve with veggies, fiber-rich crackers, spread on wraps, or add to bowls.
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
